If a church can be described as being in harmony with Cassia, the First Evangelical Free Church in Maplewood, Minnesota would. It’s fitting, therefore, that the church has a longstanding relationship with Cassia’s New Harmony community in St. Paul.
A significant number of congregants have lived at New Harmony. Recently, “the church had a vision of expanding our ministry to include those in need,” says Jon Addington, a deacon and lay leader at the church and former church chair. Now that vision is coming true.
In the past year, Cassia purchased seven acres of land near the church and is building a new care community with updated features called Harmony Gardens. As always, Cassia serves people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Because Harmony Gardens will be close to the church, more parishioners will be able to enjoy the company of Cassia residents. The church is giving congregants the opportunity to raise money for Harmony Garden’s new chapel. We are extremely grateful for this partnership as we work together to build the chapel and full continuum of services, which will serve numerous residents and families.
